Videodance Workshop

When film meets dance.
Choreograph the movement for the camera, write the dance through film editing.
Fragment the body by framing it. Compose stories in motion using various elements of visual language. Dancing with the camera.


This workshop will sum up the history of dance films, videodance and related genera. Learning the technical aspects of camera, editing software and postproduction the workshop will bring us closer to independent filmmaking process, new and low cost technologies and HDSLR cameras. Analyze the motion from a cinematographic view and the relationship between body and visual language. How to cover the creation of a videodance from the first ideas to the different ways of difusion and distribution.
Discover and explore personal creativity of the participants through practical and theoretical exercises that will inspire the group carrying out a 1 minute dance video.

The workshops will be taught by Ana Cembrero (filmmaker and choreographer) and Jorge Piquer (director of photography and filmmaker).
Aimed at filmmakers, choreographers, video artists, dancers, photographers, performers, movement artists and anyone interested in the art of dance filmmaking.
Duration: 35 hours / 5 days - 25 particiantes maximum.
